Shut up and play.

The NBA is supporting more criminal activity.

Suns to wear 'Los Suns' uniforms to honor Phoenix's Latino community

NBA Players Association executive director Billy Hunter issued a press release, denouncing the law.
We applaud the actions of Phoenix Suns players and management and join them in taking a stand against the misguided efforts of Arizona lawmakers. We are consulting with our members and our player leadership to determine the most effective way for our union to continue to voice our opposition to this legislation.
What part of "illegal" don't they understand?

Just shut up and play.

Supporting illegal activity is worse than simple partisan politics.
As Michael Jordan put it, "Republicans buy shoes too."

Speaking Spanish is illegal?

I know of no law, could you provide a link?

DiscordianStooge said...

It was a question. That's wahat that little curvy mark at the end means.

You said they are supporting illegal activity. All they did was put a Spanish word in their name. What illegal activity are they supporting?

They are opposing immigration laws. Yes, stooje, it is that simple.

So, what part of illegal alien don't you understand?

DiscordianStooge said...

They are protesting a law they feel is unjust. I know of a few people who protest tax laws. That doesn't mean they support illegal activity.

I understand both parts of illegal alien. I don't support people coming here illegally. I don't believe Arizona's law will do anything to curb people from crossing the border illegally, and it has the potential to lead to harassment.

Seems like the type of law a small government type would be against.

They don't support immigration laws? Well, they certainly won't curb the dumb jock stereotype with that attitude.

Here is a clue: Our current massive welfare system can't support open borders. (Taco Bell can't support free food on days that end in a 'y' either.) (Yes, it is that simple.)

"and it has the potential to lead to harassment."

No, the badge is the cause of harassment. Copper behavior 101.

They don't support immigration laws?

They don't support one specific immigration law.

Are there any laws you have protested?

Our current massive welfare system can't support open borders. (Yes, it is that simple.)

That may be a good argument, but not in this discussion, unless you can point out where I supported open borders.

Copper behavior 101.

You can believe that if you want. What response would you like from an officer when you call to report "possible illegal aliens." What is reasonable suspicion that someone is here illegally? How do you prove on the spot that you're a citizen?

"They don't support one specific immigration law."

Yet you failed to supply any specifics. I can spot those chanting points a mile away.

K-Rod said...

"unless you can point out where I supported open borders."

Opposing the enforcement of immigration laws and opposing the arrest of illegal aliens.

DiscordianStooge said...

Yet you failed to supply any specifics.

Specifics for what? That he doesn't support this particular law?

"However intended, the result of passing the law is that our basic principles of equal rights and protection under the law are being called into question," - Robert Sarver, Phoenix Suns owner

I can spot those chanting points a mile away.

There's an irony to that line.

Opposing the enforcement of immigration laws and opposing the arrest of illegal aliens

I oppose neither of those things.

DiscordianStooge said...

Yes, it is that simple.

You're forgetting to put this in all bold, if it's going to be your new go-to line.

K-Rod said...

"Specifics for what?"

Specifics of the law. Come on, stop the chanting point about someone "calling into question" blah blah blah yet they haven't even read the bill...

Stooj, man up and look up specifically what and how the law tramples human rights.

DiscordianStooge said...

I'm not saying the law tramples human rights, the owner of "Los Suns" is. You do realize that I'm not Robert Sarver, right? I haven't said the law tramples human rights. Others have. You can ask them for specifics.

We're weren't discussing the law, we were discussing you saying the Suns support illegal activity.

I'm not boycotting AZ. I don't support having local law enforcement do ICE's job. I do support ICE increasing enforcement of borders and immigration law.

None of that has anything to do with my original comment, but you seem intent on saying I support illegal aliens when I don't.

Now, back to the actual topic. Is opposing a specific law the same as supporting illegal activity?

K-Rod said...

Stooj, I suggest you stop parroting others if you don't want to be painted with the same brush.

By opposing the enforcement of laws against illegal aliens you are in effect supporting illegal activity.

Has Jessy Ventura commented on St. Paul?

DiscordianStooge said...

Whom am I parroting? I quoted someone. Is that what you mean?

I don't oppose the enforcement of laws against illegal aliens. The federal government should be enforcing those laws.

Has Jessy Ventura commented on St. Paul?

I think he spells it Jesse. I also don't think he's Irish.

Did you quote someone to which you agree with or disagree?

DiscordianStooge said...

I'll do this as simply as I can, since you're having trouble following me.

I said the owner didn't support one specific immigration law. You asked for "specifics" to back up that position. I gave the quote showing the owner didn't support the law.

Whether I agree or disagree is irrelevant, because it has nothing to do with my assertion that the owner is against that one particular law.

However, since unlike you I'm willing to answer questions when asked of me, I'll re-write what I wrote earlier in this very thread, so you don't have to scroll up to read it.

"I don't support having local law enforcement do ICE's job. I do support ICE increasing enforcement of borders and immigration law."

You certainly did quote an idiot that hasn't a clue. So just where does that put you?
