Hyperpartisan Obama

Obama 'amused' by Tea Party rallies
President Barack Obama struck a hyperpartisan note Thursday, telling Democrats that he was "amused" by the Tax Day Tea Party rallies.

Obama, addressing a Democratic National Committee (DNC) fundraiser in Miami, did little to endear himself to the Tea Party groups protesting around the country, saying "they should be saying thank you" because of the tax cuts he has signed into law.
You can take the corrupt politician out of Chicago...

This is the "new tone" he promised to bring to Washington DC.

How can this be "hyperpartisan" when the Tea Parties are not party events?

The Tea Party is non-partisan, but they do hold certain beliefs and are against Obama's out-of-control spending. So the movement can be considered to be a group against such partisan out-of-control spending.

Obama certainly exhibited a hyperpartisan note, without a doubt.

If the Tea Parties are non-partisan, than being against them is not being for a particular ideology, and is therefore no partisan.

He was dismissive and patronizing, it seems.

You'd have been better off quoting what he said about republicans later in the article. That's closer to partisanship.

Your nit pick is appreciated, but generally the Tea Party movement is against Obama's PARTISAN spending. Obama responded to the non-partisan Tea Party movement in a hyperpartisan manner.

Could Obama have been more hyperpartisan? YES. (but not by much)

Obama defended tax cuts. How is that partisan?

Obama has increased taxes on some of the lowest income earners.

I thought the lowest income earners didn't pay income taxes.

You need remedial reading comprehension as well.
